Winston's Wish is the
leading authority in childhood bereavement and the largest provider
of services to bereaved families in the UK. The charity was
established 16 years ago in response to a recognised need for
bereaved children to receive support developed especially for them.
Our vision is that bereaved children, young people and their
families will receive the support they need. We exist to create more
positive futures for bereaved children, helping them to live with
their grief, build confidence, develop self-esteem and reach their

Every 22 minutes a child in the UK is bereaved of a
parent; this equates to over 24,000 new children each year learning
to live with their grief. Winston's Wish is now recognised
as extremely important by health professionals and police officers
across the UK. Each year as we become more well known, the demand
for our services grows and the need for funding increases. During
the present year we will require £1.5 million to cover the running
