NORWAY ARCTIC SURVIVAL TRAINING 2010
DAYS 1 - 2:
Day 1, Arriving at our base in Norway and getting ready for the week ahead.
First part of the day in the classroom and learning all about Arctic survival and tools required.
Demostration on how to pack a Pulk correctly and the importance on the weight distribution is key.
Instructors showing how to set up our tents, we will need to have this done in under 6 minutes!

Our tent in the distance as the first day is drawing in. Temperature is around -18 and very cold.
Our first night outside after very long day and getting use to our new home!! :-)
Day 2, Pulks all packed up and ready to move out and head into the wild for the next few days!!
Everyone heading off into Norway open wilderness for our first many navigational exercises ahead.

DAYS 3 - 4:
Day 3, Enjoying the beautiful scenery out in Norway, its about -20 today and the sun is out!
Full on day of navigational and survival training, we are heading out towards the far distance!
We came across some really lovely reindeer hoof prints in the snow!!
Day 4, We're heading towards the mountain peak in the distance.
Stopping with my teammates for a few minutes rest & warm brew from our flasks.
We've navigated and travelled from the far distance in the background and another long day..
Losing light fast and heading towards camp 4 for the evening.
The sencery looks beautiful in this photo as darkness is setting in as we head towards our camp.
Arriving into camp 4 in the dark and putting the tents up whilst snowing, it was bitterly cold..
Our tent in the distance and the snow already covering the tracks where we arrive from!!
Boiling melted snow to cook tonights food with. Look at the frost inside the back of the tent!

DAY 5:
Day 5, Everyone up bright early and on the move and heading off. The final survival test awaits!
Arriving at Hjerkinn in Norway for a brief rest before heading off towards our final location.

Local Norwegian guy has turned up on his husky dog sledge to watch our final survival test.
